Cows X Aliens

Cows vs Aliens is a two-player 1D game that combines retrofuturistic design aesthetics with custom-built physical interaction hardware. The game is displayed on a single strip of NeoPixels, with each player operating a unique physical interface. The alien controls a joystick and button to activate a tractor beam, while the cow uses two buttons to dodge. The objective for each player is simple: capture or evade. Built as part of an interface design studio, the project explores physical computing, state diagram programming, and custom electronic fabrication.

The hardware system integrates an Arduino Micro, custom-coded game logic, and embedded electronics housed in a hand-fabricated enclosure combining laser-cut aluminum with natural walnut. The project merges interaction design, embedded systems, and fabrication to create a fully functional, screenless game that highlights tactile play and custom electronic interface design.
